American Excelsior Company is the inventor of biodegrable erosion control blankets. Developed in the
early 60's. Curlex Excelsior Blankets are specifically designed to actually promote ideal growing
conditions for grass seed, while simultaneously protecting topsoil from wind and water erosion. Curlex
Excelsior Blankets have long passed the test of time. By design, Curlex Blankets have a built-in swell factor -
wet curled excelsior fibers slightly expand in thickness and interlock to form a strong, fiber matrix. This
allows the fibers to provide intimate contact with local terrain. Water flow is trained to follow the curled
fiber matrix. The roughness of the curled excelsior matrix slows the velocity to a point where gravity takes
over, allowing moisture to slowly seep into the topsoil to promote ideal growing conditions.
Most straight-line fiber blankets draw the line at 270g/m2 (1/2 lb/s/y), but not Curlex. At just under
400 g/m2 (3/4 lb/s/y) Culex blankets bring 50% more erosion control fibers to your job site. Curlex blankets
are available in natural Aspen or QuickGRASS (green). Combine that with a roll that's 45cm (18in) wider
than conventional blankets and you have today's most effective and efficient multi-purpose biodegradable
erosion control blanket. Curlex excelsior blankets are available individually wrapped or in master packs to allow for mechanical
unloading and stacking. Available in three styles:
· Curlex I - Single-sided netting, short term (1 yr).
· Curlex II - Double-sided netting, medium term (1-2 yrs).
· Curlex III - Double-sided, heavy duty netting, long term (3 yrs.)

RoadRunner is a mechanically installed erosion control blanket system that has virtually
rendered manual installation obsolete. If you work with large projects and would like to
drastically reduce your unloading and installation labor rate, RoadRunner blankets along
with our patented installation equipment is your most efficient solution.
All you need to install RoadRunner blankets is one operator and two to three persons to staple
the blankets. RoadRunner installation equipment allows you to minimize crew size and maximize
labor efficiency by installing wider and longer erosion control blankets. RoadRunners allow for
a fast, smooth installation. Available colors are natural Aspen and QuickGrass (green) for
urban aesthetics.
RoadRunner installation equipment will isntall Curlex blankets, AEC Premier Straw Blankets and
Recyclex Turf Reinforcement Matting (TRM).

Permanent Turf Reinforcement Matting

there are 20 green sode bottles in every pound of Recyclex turf reinforcement mats. American Excelsior Company invented the first
biodegradable blanket, and we have done the same with recycled fibers to create Recyclex. Not only is Recyclex
environmentally responsible, it is designed to meet your most difficult erosion control challenges. For long term
permanant erosion control, Recyclex is the answer.
Recyclex TRM's are designed to allow re-vegetation and provide permanent protection in areas of concentrated flow:
· Ditch bottoms, channel bottoms & slopes, swales
· Steep reinforced slope veneers
· Landfill down chutes & let down structures
· Pond, small lake, and stream bank shoreline stabilization
· Urban Storm water drainage channels & waterways
· Use in concentrated flow areas as a TRM component with Curlex Sediment Logs

The Sediment Log wrapping is made up of a durable, open weave, containment mesh. The inside core
is filled with 100% Curlex Aspen excelsior wood fibers. The fibers are curled and have soft interlocking
barbs that expand when wet. The fibers protrude through the containment fabric, allowing intimate contact
with the soil conditions. They also come with three other benefits: no trenching, no weed seeds and no disposal hassles.
